In the past decade, Comcast has grown to be the largest cable provider and 2nd largest phone provider in the US. Its financials are strong and their market share is nearing the FCC limits. Even in these tough economic times the industry has shown stability and growth as new communication technologies develop along with the public’s demand for the products they offer. As employees of Comcast your hard work and dedicated service are vital to their success. It is time that Comcast workers are compensated and respected for their efforts.
It is unacceptable for Comcast workers
to be submitted to:
- Low wages
- Ever increasing health care costs
- Sub-standard safety conditions/equipment/training
- Elimination of job classifications and the increased use of “prime” contractors
- Poor workforce stability, high turn-over rate
- Unreasonable workload expectations that compromise safety and customer service
- No serious pension plan/ retirement
Organizing your workplace is the only way to reverse Comcast’s “race to the bottom” in compensating workers in the telecommunications sector.
Comcast can afford it…and you deserve it.
